Week 30 (December 1, 2014)

Hola mi hermosa familia,
So things here are great. I really am doing good. Today was transfers and yes i am staying here in Santiago. I´m going to be a TRAINER!!!! oh i am so excited. Really I am a little nervous but i know that God will help to teach mi hija the things she needs to learn. I hope i can be a good example and that I will enjoy every minute, which i am sure i will. We didn´t do anything for thanksgiving. Oh well we had lunch with members and hermana herrera and i were telling the about thanksgiving and  we went around the table and told one thing that we are thankful for. It was fun.

This week has been a little hard. I have felt really inferior this week but i feel so much better now.I believe in the power of prayer.
How are things with everyone. Hermana Herrera and i are very excited for Christmas.
Today we cleaned our apartment in preparations for our new companions and let me just say that our apartment was sooo disgusting. But its all cleaned and nice now. We probably aren't going to move because we need to find an apartment with air conditioner but we cant seem to find one. The weather here is so strange. The other day it was sooooo hot and when it is really hot then it usually rains right after. Well the other day it was so hot and in the night it was crazy the wind blew so hard and here there are  not mountains its all flat so its a whole lot of wind and a whole lot of dirt. Then after we got to the apartment it started to rain. Then the next day it was cold and today is pretty nice.
If its colder then people don't come to church.. i don't know why so we didn't have any investigadores in the iglesisa yesterday. But we are working hard.
Yesterday since it was the last day of hermana baquedano we visited the people she wanted to. One of our recent converts is named leticia. I want to tell you a little about her. She has lots of different problems like, depression, and Parkinson's and she doesn't have family. only a few cousins but they don't really take care of her. She is starting to lose her memory and sometimes she thinks she hears things or she thinks there are people outside her house. This is because she cant really walk very well and sometimes she falls and hits her head alot. She lives alone and the only people that really help her is us and her neighbor and sometimes her family. but she is strong. She has such a desire to learn of the Gospel and to love others. we have to pass for her house almost everyday or else she is really depressed and she just doesn't have a desire to do things. But she always buys things for us so that when we come to here house we can have a little party. So we always cook when we are at her house yesterday we had pizza and the other day we made empanadas. which were really good. She is such a angel. I feel so blessed to be able to know her. She has all these problems is her life and she still finds the energy to come to church. I know this church is true. I know that we have a father in heaven that loves us and that he loved us enough to send his son. I am so thankful for this opportunities that i have to be a part of this marvelous work and i am thankful for the family and friends that i have that support me and that have the desire to share this gospel with others also. love you all so much! Thank you and i miss you!!!!
Much love from Argentina,
Hermana Franks

She did not send any pictures this week, but a great letter.

Week 29 (November 24, 2014)

But you learn to love it.....bueno not really. There is no love in hot. Oh Mel i saw a shirt the other day that said there is no us in food. Or something like that. It made me think of you. Because really we share a passion a passion for food;)  did i mention the bread here is super delicioso.
How is everything? what are the plans for thanksgiving?
So the time here doesn't change. so we are the same time here as before but you guys are a different hour. Dad this is why you are in PE when i write. And also i really liked your letter to the paper.

Week 23 (October 13, 2014)

Hola mi hermosa familia!!
How are you all? How is everything going with you guys. Sounds like there has been a few big changes in the family, Brennan moving out and dad shaving all his hair off.! why don't i have any pics of this?
Well nothing new here. Just enjoying my time and sharing the gospel with todos. Its strange to think that i have 5 months already in the mission. How loco!!!
Today we went to a members house and cooked. Yeah i know more things about food;) This family is one of my favorites. I just love them. It is a young couple and they have a baby girl who is hermosa. The familia velasquez. They are so great.
Yesterday was the conference of the stake. President Chaparro and his wife came and spoke. It was great. And this week we are going to have a conference for all the hermanas en our zone.
We have transfers in a week and i am a little nervous. I don't want to leave palpala. I love the people in my ward and i just don't want to leave but i know that the lord will put me where i need to be.

Week 22 (October 6, 2014)

Hola mi familia! Como estan? How was everyones week? Mine was a little busy we had our zone conference Thursday which was good. I have a little bit of a cold right now but i am better today than i was yesterday. Yesterday and Saturday we went to the stake chapel to watch conference. It was really good and we only had a few problems which was good. I understood most of it. I really liked that they had the people speak in their forgein tongues. to be honest i understood the Spanish speakers more than the translated ones.
Congrats dad on the new calling wow. que fantastico. Oh i forgot to tell you guys that i spoke in church last week. It went great. Fabiana ( the familia Ruiz) is doing ok. We need to talk to her husband. We haven't had a lesson with him becasue he is always working and Fabiana said that last week after church her husband was a little angry. But we are praying that he will change his heart. He also said that his daughters cant come to church anymore which is a little weird because he is the one who said they could get baptized. But whatever we will bring him a cake to sweeten him up a bit;)
We found a familia this week. We are really excited to teach them. They have 4 daughters and the are all excited to learn. Their oldest is 24 i think and the youngest is 9 or 10. Hopefully they will progress and accept this gospel.
WOW brennan 2 weeks and you are already moved out. I just want to cry my mind feels like i will never see you again. Yo amo a mi hemano!!! Y a mis hermanitas!!! But dont worry i think i could spend at least another 3 years here. Por lo menos.
Mi espaƱol es mucho mejor y yo puedo hablar con todos pero hay personas quien yo n o entiendo pero esta bien. Yo estoy aprediendo. How is marisa doing i am almost 100 percent sure that she had forgotten me by now.... she had to many friends and she is too busy with her trumpet:P
Mi compaƱera y yo are alright. She is a little frustrating. and its a little hard for me. She is like 5 ft tall and 23 years old and she is funny when we are doing other things like when we are in the apartment or when we talking as we are walking but when we are working or talking about our plans or the majority of our lessons she is just so frustrating. She doest look at the big pictures of things and she just is really annoying sometimes. I do love her but a veces its more of a love hate relationship. I don't know how to explain it.But its really frustrating. But i have learned to love all my companions. I love Argentina. Their are things i miss, like my family and sometimes a girl just wants a normal glass of milk.
The milk here is disgusting. But for the most part the food is good. Alot of pasta and rice and chicken and meat and fruit salad. Everything comes in a bag. The milk, yogurt. Cereal. Laundry soap. Lots of things. The members are nice and for the most part the people are great too. Very catholic here but its funny because when we talk to people in the streets, sometimes they forget what their religion is.  They have to think for a second and then the say oh yeah catholics, we are catholics. Alot of the times they have the parade of the virgin Mary too. Which is weird. Their are people with fireworks and the wave sheep skins around which is really gross.
The sky here is beautiful. The sunsets are brighter and the stars are clearer. It just very beautiful here. We live close to 10 minutes from the Rio Grande. which is cool but we haven't seen it. I don't know if its really that cool anyway. Our area is huge I think its one of the biggest in the mission. so alot of walking. But its great i love every minute of it.
Oh we finally got gas in our apartment. After 4 months of showering with a bucket i forgot how great it is to have a shower.

Week 21 (September 29, 2014)

Well I hope you are all enjoying Brennan. I sure do have a testimony of this gospel. SOOO this week was fabulous... God blessed us with not 1 not 2 but 3 baptisms yes. Fabiana Ruiz and her 2 daughters were baptized Saturday. I was exactly what i needed. The happiness that I saw in their faces is just indescribable. I am so thankful for this gospel. and all the blessings that i have. I will try and send pictures next week the computers are not working well.
I love you all with all my heart
